PROCESS OF NOMINATION AND SELECTION

The Allard Prize winner and any honourable mention recipients are chosen by the Allard Prize Committee after a comprehensive nomination and selection process. Nominations are open to the public on an ongoing basis and can be submitted through the Submissions Page. The deadline for nominations for the 2024 Allard Prize is January 10, 2024. Any subsequent nominations received will be considered in the next prize cycle. The criteria for the Allard Prize are set out here: Prize Criteria.

The Allard Prize Committee is responsible for overseeing the Allard Prize, as well as for selecting the Prize winner and any honourable mention recipients. The Allard Prize Committee reviews each nomination submitted, and after engaging in discussion prepares a shortlist of nominees for further consideration. The shortlist is then submitted for review and comment to the Allard Prize Advisory Board.

The Allard Prize Nominating Subcommittee prepares a further reduced shortlist taking into account the observations and contributions from the Advisory Board. The Allard Prize winner and any honourable mention recipients are chosen by the Allard Prize Selection Subcommittee.

The Allard Prize is thereafter presented to the winner at a public ceremony.

Additional information regarding nominations is set out in the FAQs.
