On May 31, 2016, the Allard Prize and The Peter A. Allard School of Law’s International Justice and Human Rights Clinic welcomed Human Rights Watch to Allard Hall for a roundtable discussion on business and human rights.
Allard School of Law faculty, students and staff, Human Rights Watch representatives, and Vancouver-based non-governmental organizations participated in the discussion, which ranged from the effectiveness of supply chain monitoring to the proposed United Nations treaty on business and human rights, to predatory business practices against the poor.
